Ken Sobol

Kenneth "Ken" Sobol (born March 10, 1938 in Ohio , † August 5, 2010 in Toronto , Canada ) was an American author , journalist and screenwriter .

Life

Ken Sobol grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Oberlin College in 1959 . During this time he met his future wife Julie, with whom he moved to New York City after the wedding . There he studied at Columbia University and worked as a journalist for The Village Voice . He mainly wrote about local politics, television and civil rights. In 1974 he moved to Toronto with his family . Having previously worked for several television series, he also worked as a screenwriter and producer for the Canadian television station CBC Television .

Sobol died on August 5, 2010 at the age of 72 at the Kensington Health Center . In 2007 he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease . He left behind his wife, three children and six grandchildren.
