Kendra Renee Wecker (born December 16, 1982 in Marysville , Kansas , United States ) is a former professional basketball player. She last played in the 2008 season for the Washington Mystics in the Women's National Basketball Association .

Career

college

Kendra Wecker played for the Wildcats, the women's basketball team at Kansas State University , until 2005 . In 2003, 2004 and 2005 she was elected to the All-Big 12 First Team. It also received the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year award in 2005. In 2004 she was also elected to the All-District Second Team.

Women's National Basketball Association

Kendra Wecker was selected fourth in the 2005 WNBA Draft by the San Antonio Silver Stars . In the 2005 season she could only play one game for the Silver Stars due to an injury. In the 2006 season, she never missed a season game, and she was in the starting lineup of the Silver Stars eleven times. Wecker got an average of 17 minutes of playing time per game this season, during which time she scored an average of 5.6 points. In the 2007 season , she was only able to play 14 games for the Silver Stars, and her playing time also fell to 5.2 minutes per game. On May 13, 2008, she was finally put on the waiver list of Silver Stars. On June 23, 2008, the Washington Mystics signed alarm clocks. After she came there for only nine short assignments, her career in the WNBA ended.

Europe

In addition to her assignments in the WNBA, Kendra Wecker was also active in Europe for the Spanish team UB Barcelona .

At the beginning of her career she won the 2003 Junior World Championship with the US team.
