Kenneth Davidson
Kenneth Richard "Ken" Davidson (born December 24, 1905 in Calverley , † December 25, 1954 in Prestwick ) was an American badminton player of Scottish origin who also started for England. His wife, Connie Davidson, was also a successful badminton player and coach.
Career
Kenneth Davidson made a particular contribution to popularizing the sport of badminton. In addition to his sporting successes and the publication of a specialist book and some badminton videos, he toured several countries with a badminton comedy show. He died one day after his 49th birthday on December 25, 1954 in a plane crash near Prestwick. In his honor, the USA Badminton Association will present the Ken Davidson Award . In 2004, Davidson was posthumously inducted into the US Badminton Walk of Fame .
