Kenneth Kunen (1972)

Herbert Kenneth Kunen (born August 2, 1943 in New York City , † August 14, 2020 ) was an American mathematician.

He was a professor of mathematics at the University of Wisconsin – Madison , who worked on set theory and its applications in many branches of mathematics, e. B. in topology and measure theory , but also worked on non-associative algebraic systems, such as quasi-groups .

Kunen received his Ph.D. 1968 from Stanford University with Dana Scott . In 1969 he became a Sloan Research Fellow .
