Kenneth Talbot

Kenneth Talbot (born January 17, 1920 in Oxford , Oxfordshire , United Kingdom , † May 1993 in High Wycombe , Buckinghamshire , United Kingdom) was a British cameraman .

Life

Kenneth "Ken" Talbot began his film career in 1936 as a camera assistant. After ten years in this profession, he rose to become a simple cameraman. From 1950 he served as chief cameraman. In this role, Talbot photographed a number of completely insignificant B and C productions for around a decade and a half . In 1965 he was behind the camera in the Oscar- winning lion film Born Free - Queen of the Wild and became well known thanks to his impressive images of Africa.

After the huge success of this flick, Talbot also photographed the accompanying documentary The Lions Are Free . From then on, Talbot was also allowed to shoot higher-quality films, although none of these productions achieved any real significance. In the early 1970s he made a name for himself as a specialist in horror films, some of which were produced by Hammer Productions. His last work as a cameraman was the Hong Kong recordings of Peter Sellers -Klamauk Inspector Clouseau - The crazy Flic with the hot look . Talbot also worked a lot for British television. His best-known contribution there is the camera work on the bizarre television series Catweazle .
