Kennewick is a city in Benton County in the US state of Washington in the United States . Kennewick, along with the two neighboring cities of Richland and Pasco, forms part of the Tri-Cities metropolitan region , which is home to around 280,000 people.

Kennewick is located in the southeastern part of Washington state near the Hanford Site on the southwest bank of the Columbia River across from Pasco and south of the confluence of the Columbia and Yakima Rivers .
