The cenotaph for Elisabeth von Pfalz-Neuburg (* 1503; † January 5, 1563 in Lauingen ) is the work of the sculptor Sigmund Winthier († 1572). After his death, the work of art was completed in the same year by a previously unknown artist . The cenotaph is a protected monument as part of the furnishings of the parish church of St. Martin in Lauingen .

The cenotaph was erected in 1572 by the ducal master builder Zaiger from Neuburg an der Donau above the crypt in the church and moved under the west gallery in 1880 .

A two-tier substructure made of red marble is located on a base . The high grave , also made of red marble, rests on four opposing lions and iron bars at the corners. There are winged angel heads on the front corners and in the middle of the long sides. On the tumba lies the reclining figure of Elisabeth von Pfalz-Neuburg made of white marble, who is holding a cloth with both hands. The necklace she wears shows a medallion with the portrait of her son, Duke Wolfgang von Pfalz-Zweibrücken and the inscription "Wolfgang DG Comes P.".

At her feet sits on a pedestal with a lion mask and coat of arms buckler , the emblem of the United Duchies Jülich-Cleves-Berg representing. Behind her head, two standing lions hold an oval inscription cartouche in a foliage frame. The inscription in Antiqua reads: “ANNO DOMINI 1563 UF DINSTAG THE 5th DAY OF THE MONTH OF JANUARY BETWEEN 3 AND 4 IN THE MORNING AND BEKANTNUS OF OUR SAVIOR AND SELIGIFIER JESUS ​​CHRIST ALHIE IN THE CASTLE AT LAUGINGEN SECONDED HER AGE IN THE 61ST JAR. The cenotaph is surrounded by a wrought iron diamond grid in rectangular fields with decorations. The lattice is crowned by spiral tendrils with buds and flowers.
