Jordan comes from a musical family - his father is the jazz saxophonist and music teacher Kidd Jordan , his brother the trumpeter Marlon Jordan - and first learned the trumpet before turning to the concert flute. In addition to the soprano instrument, he also plays the alto and bass flute. He was heard for the first time in Europe with his father at the Moers Festival in 1982. Jordan is established as a smooth jazz or fusion musician and has made four of his own recordings with "No Question About It", "Night Air", "Essence" and "Out of this World" (with his sister Stephanie as singer). He also played on recordings by Bheki Mseleku , Wynton Marsalis , Elvin Jones , Kevin Eubanks , his uncle Alvin Batiste and his brother Marlon Jordan. In the early 1990s, the flutist, who stands out for his radiant tone and classical approach, was featured several times in the Down Beat Polls as one of the talents that deserved further attention.
