Joseph Kent Massey (born April 2, 1952 in Oklahoma City ) is a retired American sailor .
successes
Kent Massey took part in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta alongside Jim Barton as a crew member on the US Soling- class boat of skipper Jeff Madrigali . After ten races in the Fleet Race , they qualified with 36 points in second place directly for the semi-finals, which, like the rest of the final round, was held in the Match Race . They lost 3-1 to the Russian boat, but defeated the British boat 3-1 in the duel for third place, with which Massey, Barton and Madrigali won the bronze medal. Two years earlier, the crew in Helsinki had also secured bronze at the World Championships .
