Kent Ridge 1 is an Earth observation satellite from the National University of Singapore .

He was born on December 16, 2015 at 12:30 UTC with a PSLV - carrier rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Center along with Teleos-1 , VELOX CI , VELOX 2 , Athenoxat 1 and Galassia brought into a nearly circular low Earth orbit.

The three-axis stabilized satellite has three payloads: two hyperspectral cameras (hyperspectral Fourier Transform Recovery Instruments) medium resolution (pPL1 and PPL2) as a primary payload and a high resolution video camera (SPL) as a secondary payload. PPL1 works in a wavelength range from 500 to 900 nm, with 20 to 30 channels, a resolution of 44 m and a swath width of 47.5 km. PPL2 works in the infrared wavelength range from 900 to 1500 nm, with 30 channels, a resolution of 110 m and a swath width of 56.3 km. SPL works in the wavelength range from 450 to 630 nm, with a resolution of 6 m and an image size of 5.75 × 4.75 km. The satellite is supposed to take on various tasks such as vegetation monitoring and disaster relief. It was based on the LEOS 50 - satellite bus from Berlin Space Technology in cooperation with the Technical University of Berlin built. The attitude control of the satellite is carried out with a pair of sun sensors , two star sensors and three-axis gyroscopes , three reaction wheels and three magnetic torquers. The position control system delivers an accuracy of one arc minute . The energy supply of the box-shaped satellite adopt GaAs - solar cells on four outer sides and a lithium iron phosphate battery .
