Vlado Ondrej

Vlado Ondrej , actually Vladimir Ondrej , (* 1962 in Bardejov , ČSSR ) is a Slovak visual artist working in Germany .

Life

Vlado Ondrej studied painting and graphics from 1982 to 1988 at what was then the college for industrial design in Halle, Burg Giebichenstein , where he obtained his diploma. Then he was a master student with Professor Bernhard Heisig at the University of Graphic and Book Art in Leipzig .

Since 1991 Vlado Ondrej has been a freelance artist (drawing, painting, graphics) in Leipzig . Since 1994 he has had his studio on the premises of the Leipzig cotton spinning mill , where he and his wife founded the etching studio in 2009 .

From 1994 to 2000 Ondrej taught as an artistic assistant for painting and graphics at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle. From 2000 to 2012 he had a teaching assignment for etching in the field of painting and graphics.

The Ondrej couple have two sons; the family lives in Machern near Leipzig.

2016: TRANSMISSION: New York -> -> Leipzig , international art project "The Language Etching - Etching Ten" with six artists each from Leipzig and New York from July 22 to 30, 2016 in Leipzig, patronage: The US Ambassador in Berlin , John B. Emerson. Realization: Maria Ondrej and Vlado Ondrej, atelier for etching. A group exhibition of the LIA Leipzig International Art Program.
2016: International art project "The Etching Language" with six artists each from Leipzig and New York from February 9 to 28, 2016 in the New York Academy of Art. Patronage: The US Ambassador in Berlin, John B. Emerson. Ideas and curators of the artistic joint project: Maria Ondrej and Vlado Ondrej, atelier for etching, and Anna-Louise Rolland, LIA Leipzig International Arts Project.
2015: Factory exhibition of the spinning mill, May 1st to May 30th; Barcelona, Circulo del Arte, “Cliché verre reloaded - An attack on time”, April 9th to May 30th
