Vlado Ondrej

Vlado Ondrej , actually Vladimir Ondrej , (* 1962 in Bardejov , ČSSR ) is a Slovak visual artist working in Germany .

Life

Vlado Ondrej studied painting and graphics from 1982 to 1988 at what was then the college for industrial design in Halle, Burg Giebichenstein , where he obtained his diploma. Then he was a master student with Professor Bernhard Heisig at the University of Graphic and Book Art in Leipzig .

Since 1991 Vlado Ondrej has been a freelance artist (drawing, painting, graphics) in Leipzig . Since 1994 he has had his studio on the premises of the Leipzig cotton spinning mill , where he and his wife founded the etching studio in 2009 .

From 1994 to 2000 Ondrej taught as an artistic assistant for painting and graphics at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle. From 2000 to 2012 he had a teaching assignment for etching in the field of painting and graphics.

The Ondrej couple have two sons; the family lives in Machern near Leipzig.
