Maria Ondrej

Maria Ondrej , née Maria-Petra Sitte , later Maria-Petra Döring , (* 1965 in Leipzig ) is a German visual artist .

Life

Maria Ondrej studied plastic at the University of Art and Design Burg Giebichenstein Halle (Saale) from 1991 to 1996 and graduated with a diploma in fine arts . 1996 to 1998 followed a postgraduate course with Antje Scharfe, also at the University of Art and Design Burg Giebichenstein. Ondrej has been working as a freelance artist since 1996. In 2008 she created the Leipzig Etching Studio together with Vlado Ondrej in the Leipzig cotton spinning mill .

In 2010 Ondrej received a lectureship in the field of graphics at the University of Graphics and Book Art in Leipzig . In 2013 she was the initiator of "Cliché verre reloaded - An attack on time", where an almost forgotten art technique was rediscovered. In 2014 Maria Ondrej was commissioned to design the bell decorations for two new church bells to be cast in the communities of Tragnitz near Leisnig and Altenbach .
