Kent Taylor
Kent Taylor (* 11. May 1906 in Nashua , Iowa as Louis William Weiss ; † 11. April 1987 in Hollywood , Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .
Taylor worked as a window dresser in a women's clothing store before he was spotted for the film. He starred in nearly 150 feature films, the majority of which were B-movies from the 1930s, and starred in supporting roles in films from renowned studios such as I'm Not an Angel , The Black Majesty , The Ambitious , and Track the Man Down . His career peaked in the 1950s when he took the title role in the crime television series Boston Blackie and appeared in 58 episodes. He then played again the title role in the western series Rough Riders and appeared in 39 episodes. This made him known nationwide and was very popular. In the last years of his life he played in rather second-rate horror films such as The Sadists of Satan or Blood of Ghastly Horror .
Together with Clark Gable , Kent Taylor was the godfather for the "real" name of Supermans : Clark Kent.
He had been married to Augusta Kulek since 1930, with whom he had three children. His grave is in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
