Kerry Minnear

Kerry Minnear (born January 2, 1948 in Salisbury , England) is a British musician.

After studying music, Minnear joined the progressive rock group Gentle Giant as a keyboardist in 1970 and was a driving force in composing there until 1980. Especially the passages of the music with a classic touch often came from his pen and gave the band their unmistakable style. In addition, Minnear sang many of the band's pieces alongside Derek Shulman and was known for both virtuoso keyboard playing and extraordinary vibraphone solos. He also played cello , xylophone , recorder , guitar , bass and drums, among others .

Today, Kerry Minnear lives with his wife Leslie in the Midlands of England. The two run the Alucard Music label , which represents Gentle Giant's interests. He also works on solo projects and computer game music.

Minnear has a son and two daughters.
