Kerryn McCann
Kerryn McCann (born May 2, 1967 as Kerryn Hindmarsh in Bulli (suburb of Wollongong ), New South Wales , † December 8, 2008 in Wollongong ) was an Australian athlete .
Kerryn McCann was a long distance runner . She won the gold medal in the marathon at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 and in Melbourne in 2006 . Her best times were:
- 5000 meter run : 15: 08.69 min. (2000 - Australian record)
- 10,000 meter run : 31: 55.94 min. (1999)
- Half marathon : 1: 07.48 hours (2000 - Australian record)
- Marathon: 2:25:59 hours (2000)
Kerryn McCann died of complications from cancer. She was married to the Australian surfer Greg McCann since 1991 ; the marriage had three children.
