Kerstin Weißenborn

Kerstin Weißenborn (born November 7, 1980 in Großburgwedel as Kerstin Hoyer ) is a German national hockey player .

Athletic career

Kerstin Hoyer began playing hockey at TSV Engensen ( Hanover region ) and was first trained there by her mother, Heide-Lore Hoyer. She played there with Anke Kühn .

Hoyer later moved to DTV Hannover, where she was nominated for the C-team of the German Hockey Association at the age of 19 . Her next stop was the Bundesliga team from Eintracht Braunschweig .

Kerstin Hoyer is currently playing at Rot-Weiß Köln both indoors and on the field in the 1st Bundesliga.

She played her first international match on May 18, 2003 against the Czech Republic. Her greatest successes were winning the German championship in field hockey in 2003 and 2007, second place at the European championship in Ireland in 2005 and first place at the Champions Trophy 2006 in the Netherlands.

Professional career

Kerstin Hoyer attended the Großburgwedel grammar school up to her Abitur and then completed an apprenticeship at TUI AG as a transport clerk. She studied "Regional Studies Latin America" ​​in Cologne.

Since August 2009 she has been married to Tibor Weißenborn , who is also a successful hockey player.
