Kerstin Kipp (* 1971 as Kerstin Seiler in Zeist ) is a German neuropsychologist , speech scientist and university lecturer at the State University for Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart .

Life

Kerstin Kipp completed a degree in psychology at Saarland University and graduated in 1998 with a diploma. At the same time, she studied speech science and speech training at Saarland University and passed the speech trainer examination ( DGSS ) in 1999 . She was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation . In 2003 she received her doctorate on the subject of action memory with summa cum laude . She obtained her habilitation in 2011 in psychology with the topic "Associations in episodic memory: Representation formats, development and pathologies in childhood and adolescence", also at Saarland University.

From 2012 to 2015 she worked as a project manager and scientific director of the ZNL Transfer Center for Neurosciences and Learning at Ulm University.

Since 2014 she has been Professor of Speech Studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart , Institute for Speech Art and Communication Education .

research

At the Saarland University , Kerstin Kipp researched learning and memory processes in preterm infants and in children who had febrile seizures in early childhood in the field of cognitive neuropsychology. Using EEG and MRT experiments, she was able to demonstrate that in both groups different networks in the brain are responsible for memory performance than in children born on time without febrile seizures.

In educational research at the ZNL Transfer Center for Neurosciences and Learning, Kerstin Kipp examined the effects and benefits of intensive cooperation between kindergartens and primary schools using the Baden-Württemberg model project Bildungshaus 3–10 .

At the HMDK Stuttgart she researches professional speaking. She was able to prove that people with a speaking training (e.g. studying speaking skills or acting) speak differently than people without such training. A second focus of her research is rhetorical communication, e.g. B. the analysis of speeches by top politicians in televised discussions.
