Kerstin Schrottke
Kerstin Schrottke (* 1971 in Germany ) is a German geologist and university lecturer .
Scientific career
Kerstin Schrottke studied 1992-1997 Geology at the University of Kiel and completed this study with the diploma from. During her studies, she completed her training as a scientific research diver and mission manager at the research diving center of the CAU. After graduating, she worked until 2001 as a research assistant at the Institute for Geosciences at Kiel University in the coastal geology group. In 2001 she did her doctorate at Math.-Nat. Faculty of the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel. Between 2001 and 2002 she was a research assistant at the Research and Technology Center West Coast of the CAU and from 2002 to 2007 she worked as a research assistant at the Marum at the University of Bremen . Since 2008, Kerstin Schrottke has been the head of the Sea Level Rise and Coastal Erosion working group at the Cluster of Excellence Ocean of the Future and Institute for Geosciences at the University of Kiel.
Research interests
Kerstin Schrottke is particularly interested in coastal logic and there in particular in coastal systems (estuaries, mud flats , cliffs , sandy surf coasts ) their dynamics ( hydrodynamics , morphodynamics, sediment dynamics) and development ( coastal erosion , coastal protection , sediment balancing), as well as the areas of sedimentology (sediment stratigraphy) and measurement technology ( hydroacoustics ).
