Kerstin Weiss
Kerstin Weiss (* 9. July 1965 in Bolton ) is a German social worker , politician ( SPD ) and, since 2014 District Administrator of nordwestmecklenburg .
Life
After attending the extended secondary school , Kerstin Weiss studied from 1984 to 1989, graduating as a qualified teacher . In 1989/90 she was released for research studies. In an in-service training course, she obtained the degree "State-recognized social pedagogue ". Since February 1991 she worked for the district of Northwest Mecklenburg, first in the youth welfare office, then as head of the education and culture department.
From 2008 to 2014 she was the second deputy of the district administrator and as an associate head of the youth, education, social and health department and responsible for the municipal part of the job center .
After the appointment of District Administrator Birgit Hesse as Minister for Labor, Equality and Social Affairs of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on January 14, 2014, Kerstin Weiss was nominated as a candidate by the SPD. In the main election on May 25, 2014, she received the most votes with 33.4%, ahead of Gerhard Rappen (CDU) with 32.9%. She won the runoff election on June 15, 2014 with 57% and a turnout of only 22.4%.
