Kerstin de Witt

Kerstin de Witt (* 1976 in Meppen ) is a German recorder player . Her focus is on early music and contemporary music .

Life

She completed her studies at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater and the Trossingen University of Music . Her teachers included Kees Boeke and Peter Holtslag.

In 1991 she was awarded the Emsland District Culture Prize. In 1998 she won the special prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned composition at the international recorder competition in Calw. In 1999 she received a Masefield grant from the Alfred Toepfer Foundation FVS .

Kerstin de Witt gives concerts as a soloist and in various ensembles . Since 1999 she has been a member of the renowned Flautando Köln recorder quartet . She is featured in numerous radio, TV and CD recordings.

She plays in Europe (including Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , MuziekBiennale Niederrhein , MDR Music Summer , Music Festival Central Europe ), in Australia, the USA , Korea, Taiwan and Central America.

Since 1999 she has been a lecturer at the Summer Academy of Early Music in Prachatice (Czech Republic), and since 2009 Kerstin de Witt has been teaching at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama .
