Kevin Vincent Muscat (born August 7, 1973 in Crawley , England ) is an Australian football coach and former football player .

Club career

In his youth, the midfielder played for Sunshine George Cross and for the Australian youth academy. In 1991 he began his professional career at Heidelberg United, and in 1992 he moved to South Melbourne FC. Muscat spent most of his career in England. There he played for Crystal Palace , Wolverhampton Wanderers and Millwall FC . In 2002/03 he was also active with the Glasgow Rangers . He has been playing for Melbourne Victory since 2005, and in 2007 he also took over as assistant coach.

National team

In 1994 Muscat made his debut for the Australian national team against Kuwait . He also represented his country at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and in the relegation game to the 2002 World Cup , when he scored 1-0 against Uruguay . At the 2006 World Cup , he did not make a game for Australia, only in August 2006 he came back to a mission as captain of the team.
