The Khani Basa Sar is a 6441 m high mountain in the Karakoram .
location
It belongs to the Hispar Muztagh , part of the Karakoram main chain in the Pakistani autonomous region of Gilgit-Baltistan . The Khani Basa Sar is connected by a mountain ridge with the 5.8 km north-northeast located Kanjut Sar I ( 7760 m ). The mountain is flanked in the west by the Yutmaru Glacier and in the east by the Khani Basa Glacier . A 5370 m high saddle separates Khani Basa Sar from Hispar Sar ( 6400 m ), 5.75 km south-southwest .
Ascent history
The Khani Basa Sar was first climbed in the summer of 2009 by Raphael Slawinski and Ian Welsted. They reached the summit from the Yutmaru Glacier via the southwest face. Before that, there were several attempts to climb it. A Korean expedition failed in the summer of 2008.
