Kikagaku Moyo

Kikagaku Moyo (Japanese: 幾何学 模 様, Hepburn : Kikagaku Moyō) is a Japanese psychedelic rock band, whose name means "geometric patterns". Their music is influenced by Krautrock .

history

The band was founded by Go Kurosawa ( drums , vocals ) and Tomo Katsurada ( guitar , vocals) in the summer of 2012. At first they played street music as a free group . A permanent line-up of the band was formed with the entry of guitarist Daoud and bassist Kotsu Guy. A brother of Go Kurosawa joined the band on his return to Tokyo after studying sitar with Manilal Nag in Calcutta .

The band's debut album was released on August 20, 2013 by Cosmic Eye / Sound Effect. The second LP Forest of Lost Children came out on May 20, 2014. They toured the United States to promote the album, playing at Desert Daze and the Austin Psych Fest. Their debut was re-released on cassette by Burger Records due to increasing demand , with a new cassette from the eclectic Sky Lantern Records. In 2014 Mammatus Clouds was pushed to 12 "LP by both Cardinal Fuzz Records (GB) and Captcha Records (USA). They continued the tour that same year and played their first concert in the UK in October, with many concerts in London .

In 2015 they toured Europe and played at the Eindhoven Psych Lab and Duna Jam in Sardinia . In 2014, members of the band founded the record company Guruguru Brain , which specializes in the music scene in East Asia .
