Kilian Saum (born March 23, 1958 in St. Peter , Black Forest as Helmut Manfred Saum ) was initially a Benedictine monk of the St. Ottilien Archabbey in Upper Bavaria, he is a naturopath and non-fiction author. He has not lived and worked in the monastery for several years, but is now the parish administrator of the former Lower Bavarian monastery church in Oberalteich .
Saum first learned a commercial profession and then completed an internship at the Oberkirch hospital. At the age of 17 he decided to live in the service of the sick.
From 1993 to 2003 Kilian Saum was head of the health and nursing department of his monastery. There he took care of, among other things, the care and medical care of his confreres.
He also trained as a naturopath and physiotherapist and published several books on naturopathic procedures called monastery medicine .
