Kill rock stars

Kill Rock Stars is an American independent label from Olympia , Washington state .

The label was founded in 1991 by Slim Moon. Moon initially wanted Vinyl - Singles publish with spoken texts. However, the label began to expand to include various local bands such as Unwound , Witchypoo , and the influential Riot-Grrrl bands Bikini Kill and Bratmobile, as well as foreign bands such as Huggy Bear from Great Britain .

Later bands and solo artists such as Sleater-Kinney , The Decemberists , Lois Maffeo , Mary Lou Lord , Elliott Smith , Mukilteo Fairies , Deerhoof , Jeff Hanson , The Thermals and Gossip joined them. The releases of local bands, on the other hand, declined more and more.
