Killarney is a rural town and village in the Southern Downs Region , Queensland , Australia . It is located about 35 kilometers southeast of Warwick , about eight kilometers north of the border between the states of Queensland and New South Wales . The city is located in the Darling Downs on the Condamine River at about 507 meters above sea level. At the 2016 census, the locality of Killarney had a population of 954 people.
Killarney was founded as a city in 1878 and borders in the north on the territory of the indigenous population of the Aborigines of the Yetimarala . Around 1840 the first Europeans came to the city and settled there.

Queen Mary Falls
Five waterfalls around Killarney make this area a popular destination. One of them is the Queen Mary Falls , which is located in an exclave of the Main Range National Park about ten kilometers east of the city. At this waterfall, the Spring Creek falls 40 meters into the depth.
