Killer Bean Forever is an American animated film. It was produced by Killer Bean Studios and released on December 9, 2009.

action

Killer Bean is sent to Beantown, but when he is attacked in one of the warehouses of the Mafia boss Cappuccino, Detective Cromwell becomes aware of a bean who tries to put Cappuccino and possibly Killer Bean behind bars.

production

The concept for Killer Bean originated in a short film by Jeff Lew in the late 1990s with the title "Killer Bean: The Interrogation" and later "Killer Bean 1". Jeff Lew only wanted to teach himself animation with this short film and only received about 3000 views. After practicing animation for over two years, Lew began work on Killer Bean 2: The Party, a 7-minute short film. Killer Bean 2 took about 3 years to create and was released in 2000 on iFilm. It received roughly a million views in about 6 months.

The first rough draft of the script took about 5 months. Previsualization took about a year and a half. One mistake Lew regretted was that he didn't create the concept art before the Previz, which meant that a lot of the Previz footage couldn't be reused for the final animation. Lew then posted an ad on Craigslist for votes and auditioned about 20 people and signed four. All pre-production was completed by July 2005.

The production of the film took about 5 years, of which about 1½ years in preproduction and 3 years in animation. Killer Bean Forever had about 1000 animated shots. In general, animators are given 1 to 4 weeks to create a recording. It would have taken 20 years to create 1000 images. Lew therefore used an inexpensive 2D motion capture system to speed up the animation, mostly with lip sync.

In May 2018, the entire film was released on YouTube.
