Kim played for the first time internationally as a substitute for the South Korean team at the Pacific Asia Cup in 2016 and won the gold medal there by beating China (Skip: Wang Bingyu ). She was able to repeat this success at the Pacific Asia Cup 2017 by beating Japan (Skip: Satsuki Fujisawa ), where she also played several times as a substitute.
In this position, Kim also took part in the 2018 Winter Olympics in her home country. Under Skip Kim Eun-jung, the South Koreans finished the preliminary round in first place after eight wins and one defeat; Kim was used in three games. In the semifinals, the team defeated Japan with Satsuki Fujisawa. In the final she lost to Sweden with Skip Anna Hasselborg and won the silver medal. At the 2018 World Cup , she came as a substitute for the Korean team in the playoffs, but lost the qualifying game against the USA (Skip: Jamie Sinclair ) and finished fifth in the final standings.
