Kim Go-eun (born July 2, 1991 ) is a South Korean actress .

Life

Kim grew up in China .

Career

Kim Go-eun was best known for the film adaptation Eungyo (2012) by Jung Ji-woo . For her role she received the Blue Dragon Award and the Daejong Film Prize , which are considered to be the most important film awards in South Korea, in the category of best young actress . Before that, she had no experience in commercial films. It was not an easy decision for her to take on the role in the film, as her whole body is also shown in her role. She accepted the role also because she does not want to become a popular actress who is loved by everyone, but a good actress. She then starred alongside Lee Min-ki in Hwang In-ho 's second film Monster (2014). In it she plays Bok-soon , who takes revenge on a serial killer who murdered her sister. In 2015 she took up the subject of "revenge" again in two further roles. In the wuxia film Memories of the Sword , she plays one at the side of Jeon Do-yeon and Lee Byung-hun and is driven to avenge death on her parents. She also played the leading role in the film adaptation of the novel Coin Locker Babies (1980) by Ryū Murakami . In this film, she plays the abandoned girl who is found in a coin locker and later raised by a loan shark. Here, too, an act of revenge follows.

She would like to act in romantic films in the future, but has not yet received any offers.

In 2016 she made her television debut in the tvN series Cheese in the Trap , an adaptation of the popular webtoon of the same name . She also plays the leading role in the drama Goblin ( 도깨비 Dokkaebi , 2016-2017).
