Kim Min-jung (badminton)
Kim Min-jung ( kor. 김민정 ; born July 29, 1986 in Jeju ) is a badminton player from South Korea .
Athletic career
Kim Min-jung took part in the 2008 Olympics and was ninth in women's doubles with Ha Jung-eun . At the 2009 Badminton World Cup , she was also in the mixed round in the round of 16 with Yoo Yeon-seong . In 2007 both had already won gold at the Universiade . At the Swiss Open Super Series 2010 she made it to the quarter-finals, at the German Open 2007, the China Open 2008, the Swiss Open 2009, the All England Super Series 2009 and the Singapore Super Series 2008 and 2009 to the semi-finals. In 2009 and 2010 she was second in mixed at the Asian Championships . In the Uber Cup 2008 she finished third with the South Korean team, and in 2010 she won this world championship for women’s teams . At the 2012 Olympic Games , she and her partner Ha Jung-eun were disqualified from the Games by the World Federation for match-fixing. In the last group game, the two clearly did not show the will to want to win the game, as they would have met supposedly weaker opponents if they were defeated in the subsequent knockout round.
