Kim Mu-yeol (born May 22, 1982 in Seoul ) is a South Korean film and stage actor .

Life

Kim Mu-yeol studied performing arts at Sungkyunkwan University , located in the Daehangno theater district . He started his career in plays and musicals. He won the Korea Musical Award for Best Actor for his performance as Melchior in the musical Spring Awakening . However, he switched to film with his first major role in The Scam (2009). In 2011 he played a bigger groove in the hit historical film War of the Arrows . In 2012, Kim played a torn writer in the provocative drama Eungyo .

In the same year, Kim received public criticism over media reports that she had evaded and wanted to evade military service . In March 2001 he was classified as fit for military service. According to this, he is said to have delayed his call-up six times between 2007 and 2009 and cited the civil service examination or the start of training as reasons. But nothing of the sort actually took place. However, he is said to have earned around 300 million won from films and TV series during this period . He also requested to be released from duty because of a knee injury, which was refused, and because his family was too poor, which was approved. Kim's father fell ill with cancer in 2008 .

Due to the controversy, Kim lost his role in the film AM 11:00 ( Yeolhansi ) and was replaced by Choi Daniel . In his statement, Kim said he never wanted to shirk military service and did nothing wrong. To get rid of the rumors, he finally decided to do his military service. His service ended on July 8, 2014. He played his first leading role after his release in 2015 in the war film Northern Limit Line about the incident with North Korea at Yeonpyeong in 2002. This was followed by other major roles in the historical film Warriors of the Dawn (2017), the thriller Forgotten (2017), the television series Bad Guys: Vile City (2017), the action comedy Snatch Up (2018) and Kim Jee-woon's anime adaptation Illang: The Wolf Brigade (2018).

On April 4, 2015, he married actress Yun Seung-a .
