Kim Strübind

Kim Strübind (born November 8, 1957 in Nuremberg ) is a German Protestant theologian and publicist.

Life

After graduating from the Comenius-Gymnasium Deggendorf in 1977, Kim Strübind studied Protestant theology and Jewish studies at the Church University of Berlin and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem . In 1989 he was awarded a doctorate in Berlin with a dissertation on the theology of chronicle books in the Old Testament. theol. PhD.

After working as managing director of a research institute and scientific assistant at the Church University of Berlin and at the Theological Faculty of Heidelberg University, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the Heidelberg Graduate School "Religion and Normativity" funded by the DFG.

During his activity as the main pastor of a Munich Baptist congregation from 1996 to 2006, he was also state president (state chairman) of the Bavarian Baptist congregations and a member of the church leadership of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches from 2002 to 2004 . In 2012 he converted to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria with full recognition of his ordination rights as a pastor.

From 2007 he was administrator of the chair of the Old Testament and Hebrew at the Institute for Protestant Theology and Religious Education at the University of Oldenburg , where he has been teaching special tasks since the 2014 summer semester.

From 1996 to 2014 Kim Strübind was editor of the magazine for theology and congregation , which has been published since 1996 and is published by the Society for Free Church Theology and Journalism (GFTP), of which he was chairman until 2011. His journalistic activities focus on questions about the hermeneutics and religious history of the Old (and New) Testament as well as church and ecumenical contemporary questions, which are reflected in numerous publications. Until 2013 he was a member of the presidential assembly of the German Evangelical Church Congress .

He was married to the theologian Andrea Strübind .
