Children Core Records is an American Independent - Label from Athens , Georgia , was established in 1996 by Ryan Lewis and Daniel Geller to the growing music scene locally to provide a forum. The first release was the compilation The Treble Revolution , which sold out within a week. This was followed by the band's first single, Kincaid. In addition to indie and emo bands like Vermont , acts influenced by hip-hop were also signed. With these new bands, Kindercore caused a sensation in the east coast music scene. The label was financially supported by Emperor Norton Records in this early stage and was thus able to attract more distant acts such as Dressy Bessy from Denver, Call And Response from San Francisco and the British band Birdie . In 2002 Kindercore ended the collaboration with Emperor Norton Records and then collaborated with the Telegraph Company. Geller and Lewis decided to diversify their music offering and signed up new extraordinary groups such as Maserati , Jet By Day and Paper Lions .

The business relationship between Kindercore and Telegraph came to an abrupt end in October 2003 after highly contradicting press releases were issued alternately by Telegraph CEO Stan Hartman and Kindercore General Manager Jerod Gunsberg about the company's fate. The announcements caused great uncertainty in the music scene, because it became apparent that Geller and Lewis had very little control over the society they had founded. Geller and Lewis then sued Telegraph CEO Stan Hartman and got it right. As a result, they regained control of the Kindercore catalog. Geller and Lewis still live in Athens. Lewis is a columnist for the Athens Banner Herald. Geller continues to make music with his band I Am The World Trade Center .
