The Nakhichevan Children's Railway ( Azerbaijani Naxçıvan Uşaq Dəmir Yolu) was a narrow-gauge children's railway in Naxçıvan (since January 1990 : Naxçıvan Autonomous Republic ). It ran on a 0.7 km or, according to other information, 1 km long route with a track width of 750 mm with an intermediate stop between two terminal stations. The line was opened in 1978 as the southernmost of the many pioneer railways in the Soviet Union and decommissioned in 2000.

history

Strangely enough, almost nothing is known about the Nakhchivan children's railway. However, it is mentioned in some documents from the Ministry of Railways, so there is no doubt that it existed.

Rail vehicles

The first diesel locomotives of the Nakhchivan children's railway were the TU2-206 and TU-182. Her three Pafawag cars were previously used on the Baku children's railway . The TU2-206 diesel locomotive was transferred to the Baku Children's Railway, whereupon the Nakhichevan Children's Railway received the TU2-099 diesel locomotive, which was previously operated on the Baku Children's Railway. In 1987 the Nakhichevan children's railway received a new TU7-0204 diesel locomotive, which was handed over to the Baku children's railway in the same year.
