King Electric is a band from Vienna . Her style ranges between indie , alternative and electro funk .


Originating from the Viennese indie and techno scene in the 1990s, Peter Hartwig and Chris Isepp started their collaboration in the summer of 2000. The very first single Summerbreeze (2003) garnered good reviews in the German and English press and was featured in various club and radio charts across Europe. This was followed by further releases on Top10 Records, as well as various remixes and solo projects, such as Hartwig's electronic modular arrangements for the new setting of Franz Schubert's Winterreise (Leise plead my songs, 2007), the two decided to change their musical style.

In 2009 the single Da King appears , which u. a. was also represented at the Sony / FM4 Soundselection 20 and reached number 5 in the official Austrian charts. The official video clip was presented in screen sessions at several film festivals such as Diagonale , Alpine Short Film Festival Nenzing and frameout - digital film festival.

In May 2011 King Electric released another single, Commit Yourself , which reached number 12 in the Austrian indie charts. As a promo import, the single had surprisingly good airplay in the USA and was listed at number 45 in the official US Unsigned / Alternative Charts.

At the end of 2012 the debut album King Electric was released in Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

In January 2013, the single Out of Reach reached number 9 in the official German Indie Charts and number 94 in the Top 100.

In December 2013 the first part of the album Remixes Remixology Vol 1 was released, the EP includes Remixes and others. a. by Sixtus Preiss, B.Visible and Takafumi Sakurai.
