King Trigger was an English band from London . It was active in the early 1980s.

history

After their punk band The Scoop broke up in 1980, singer Sam Hodgkin and guitarist Martyn Clapson formed the band Screaming King Trigger , which soon shortened its name to King Trigger . Other band members were Trudi Baptiste from Grenada , Stuart Kennedy and Ian Cleverly, who was friends with Clapson.

The band signed to Chrysalis Records and toured as the opening act for the Thompson Twins . In 1982 the single The River was released , which reached chart positions in Australia and the United Kingdom . In the same year another single and an album produced by Steve Lillywhite were released. However, the band could not build on the success of The River .

In 2007 the single The River and the album Screaming were re-released as MP3 downloads.
