Kingdom of Sorrow or KoS is a band founded in 2005. Founding members and songwriters are Jamey Jasta ( Hatebreed , Icepick) and Kirk Windstein ( Crowbar , Down ).
history
Jamey Jasta and Kirk Windstein met in the early 1990s at a crowbar / down concert. Jasta, who worked as a booker in New England in the 1990s , hired Crowbar for a few concerts in order to also perform there with his band Hatebreed . In 2005, Crowbar and Hatebreed did a joint tour, which also gave rise to the idea for a joint project. Shortly afterwards, in May 2005, the first recordings came and in April 2006 the first release on the compilation MTV2 Headbangers Ball: The Revenge , which included Buried in Black . The self-titled debut album Kingdom of Sorrow was produced by Chris Zeuss Harris at Planet-Z Studios and was released on February 19, 2008 on Relapse Records . Guitarist Steve Gibb (Crowbar, Black Label Society ), bassist Matthew Brunson (Crowbar) and drummer Derek Kerswill ( Unearth , Seemless) were hired for the upcoming tour . On June 8, 2010, the current album Behind the Blackest Tears was released on Relapse Records. In the current line-up, Steve Gibb and Derek Kerswill have been replaced by Charlie and Nick Bellmore - both members of the band Phantoms .
