The Kingkey 100 (abbreviated KK100 ; former project name Kingkey Finance Tower) ( Chinese 京 基 100 , Pinyin Jing-ji 100 ) is a skyscraper in the Chinese city of Shenzhen . The 100 in the name refers to the number of floors .
After the construction site had reached its final height at the end of March 2011, the building was completed in November 2011 before the planned opening date. With a height of 441.8 meters, it is the second tallest in the city after the Ping An International Finance Center and relegated 384 meters high Shun Hing Square to third place on the city list. The building is also one of the tallest in the world.
The 100-story skyscraper has a hotel on the upper floors and numerous office facilities. The hotel is not open to the public, but you can get access by purchasing a voucher worth 240 RMB (Dec 2016). There you can use the voucher in the restaurants and bars with the best view. The top level is at 381 meters; Above it is only the rounded roof structure of the building.
The inside of the building has a solid concrete core that protects stairwells, elevators and supply lines. The facade is clad with glass and consists of thick steel supports behind the panes. Many modern skyscrapers around the world are built using this construction method.
