The Church of the Most Holy Virgin Mary Kulva ( Lithuanian Kulvos Švč. Mergelės Marijos bažnyčia ) is a Catholic Church of Mary in the village of Kulva , Jonava district ( Kaunas district ), on the Vilijampolė - Žeimiai - Šėta highway . The church belongs to the deanery Jonava in the archdiocese of Kaunas .

history

The first wooden chapel was probably built in the early 16th century. There was always a pastor living in Kulva. It was financed by the Kulva farm . After the Reformation , the court owners Kulviečiai handed the chapel over to the Evangelical Reformed Church in Lithuania . In 1645, the pastor of Skaruliai Klimkevičius started a lawsuit over the chapel in Kulva. In 1647 the chapel was handed over to the Catholics. In 1710 it was renovated. In 1909 the parish was established.

In 1911 the church was built over. The present church was built in 1925.
