The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schwarzbach is a classical hall church in the Elterlein district of Schwarzbach in the Saxon Ore Mountains District .

history

At the south end of 1240 the monastery Grünhain beaten resort Schwarzenbach there was probably since the dawn of a small chapel on the origin Oeder -Blatt 10b / 11 is referred to as "Kirchel" and probably during the war Thirty Years was destroyed. Sieber brings this first "Schwarzbacher" church building, of course located on Mittweidaer Flur , in connection with the "legendary Michaeliskapelle".

The desire expressed by the Schwarzbachers in 1529 as part of the first evangelical visit to found their own parish failed due to the poor financial situation of the community, which thus remained a parish in Markersbach .

After a renewed request from the Royal Saxon Ministry of Culture in 1835 , the building permit was granted. The year after the foundation stone was laid, the church was consecrated on October 15, 1837. The construction costs amounted to about 6500 thalers. The building planner Johann Traugott Lohse from Schlettau died during the construction work at the age of 76.

In 1870 a rectory was built next to the church. In 1927, a war memorial was inaugurated on the south side of the church in memory of those who fell in World War I. It was demolished in 2006 because it was dilapidated. During the GDR times, a mortuary hall was built on the cemetery grounds as the first NAW project in the town .

In 1963 the clockwork was electrified and the dial illuminated. In 1993 electrical bench heating followed, along with renovations to the facade, windows, portals and heating.

The parish of Schwarzbach merged with Elterlein in 1937 to form “ Ev.-luth. Parish Elterlein with Schwarzbach ”. There is a flute circle, a church choir and choir and organ concerts are held.

The church is a plastered building with a straight east end and high arched windows. The hipped roof is provided with a roof turret.

The interior, mainly in white, gold and light blue, is provided with two-story galleries and built-in boxes. The furnishings date from the time it was built. The organ was built in 1837 by Christian Gottlob Steinmüller . The altar and pulpit were made by master carpenter Zeidler from Adorf, the baptismal table with basin was made by master carpenter Wappler from Bernsbach .

Peal

After the medium and small bells were melted down in 1917, some local investors financed the casting of new bells (cis 104 kg and gis 155 kg) in 1924. In 1949, two more bronze bells completed the bells, which were electrified in 1994. Today the Schwarzbacher bell consists of - d (2 bars) (150 kg) / f (2 bars) (100 kg) / g (2 bars) (60 kg) ("Te-Deum-Bell").
