The church in Stolpe on Usedom in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district dates from the 19th century. The neo-Gothic brick building belongs to the parish of Usedom / Stolpe / Mönchow-Zecherin in the Pasewalk provost in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany . Before that she belonged to the Greifswald parish of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church .

history

The first mention of a priest for Stolpe comes from the year 1218. In 1867 the village's medieval church was badly damaged by lightning . A new church was built according to a design by master bricklayer Zaeske from Usedom and consecrated in 1871. The community had to go into debt for this. The woodwork inside was carried out by craftsmen from Stolpe and Gummlin. The church in Krummin bought the organ used around 1863 .

The church tower was renewed in 1873. The medieval lower part was rebuilt.

building

The church was built as a rectangular neo-Gothic brick building on a field stone base . It has a recessed polygonal choir with a pointed arch window. A console frieze runs below the eaves on the choir and nave and on the west tower as a cornice . The indented west tower with the portal has a rectangular floor plan and a polygonal pyramid helmet .

Furnishing

Interior decoration

The nave has a wooden beam ceiling. This is separated from the vaulted ceiling of the choir by a narrow triumphal arch . The organ is on a wooden west gallery .

One of the originally two medieval bells has been preserved. The other was collected in 1942 as a metal levy.
