Reformed Church Töss
The Reformed Church Töss is a Reformed church building in the Töss district of the city of Winterthur , Switzerland .
history
Before the Reformation there was the Dominican convent Töss , the building of which was bought by Johann Jacob Rieter for the Rieter machine factory from 1833 . Only the monastery church was excluded from the purchase of the monastery grounds at the time, as it was used by the Töss parish and the canton would otherwise have been responsible for a replacement.
This changed in the 1850s, also with financial support from Heinrich Rieter (1814–1889) and the Canton of Zurich, who financed a corresponding new building together with other supporters. Wilhelm Corrodi , the dean of Tössem at the time , also played a key role in building a new church. It was realized between 1854 and 1855 according to plans by Johann Caspar Wolff .

The church is a simple neo-Gothic hall church with a front tower, the parish was based on the church Obfelden near Affoltern, which was built according to plans by Ferdinand Stadler . The tower has a pointed arch portal, on the bell floor there are sound windows with Gothic tracery . The dials are housed in the eyelashes that protrude into the concluding pointed tower helmet.
Interior
Like the Hütten church built by Wolff, the interior is laid out as a rectangular sermon hall with a small rectangular choir , which at the beginning was only equipped with loose chairs. The pulpit is on the choir arch .
Cartouches with banners are painted in the choir . A band of painted neo-Gothic leaf tendrils runs above the paneling over the inside of the walls. The light falls through high pointed arch windows and small round windows with fish bubbles . On the rear gallery is located organ .
