Weissenstein Church

The Weissenstein Church is the church of the Reformed parish Weissenstein / Rechthalten in the Swiss canton of Friborg .

history

The Weissenstein Church was built as a chapel in 1938 and attached to the new schoolhouse in Weissenstein, which was built at the same time. The land for the church was provided by the Weissenstein school community , while the building was financed by a Reformation collect.

At that time it belonged to the parish of the Sense District. When this parish was dissolved on December 31, 1998, the newly founded parish Weissenstein / Rechthalten took over the chapel. Since then it has been used as a church. In August 2005, supported by another Reformation collection, the church was enlarged to its present size. The orientation was changed from south to east.
