Reformation collections
The Reformation collection has been the collection of all Protestant parishes of Swiss national and cantonal churches since 1897 on Reformation Day (in Switzerland the 1st Sunday in November) .
It is the only collection that is collected in Switzerland on the same day. The supporter of the Reformation collection is the Protestant Solidarity Switzerland , the national umbrella organization of the individual cantonal and regional Protestant-church aid associations.
intention
Since the founding of the federal state in 1848, many diaspora communities have developed in Switzerland that lacked the opportunity to finance the necessary infrastructure. Churches, parish and rectory houses, school houses and chapels were financed with the help of the Reformation collections. Even today, support is mainly given to parishes in the diaspora that either have to renovate or expand existing buildings or build new churches, parish houses or parsonages.
