Reformed Church Bever
The Reformed Church in Bever in the Upper Engadine is a Grade II listed Evangelical - Reformed church , which was originally to St. Jakob ( Romansch dialect turkey San Giachem ) was dedicated.
History and equipment
The church was first mentioned in 1370. After the Graubünden turmoil the ship was rebuilt in 1665–67, and the tower on the north side in 1669–73 . The baroque church is a densely built hall church with a hipped roof .
The rectangular sermon room follows Reformed homiletic tradition. The gallery with an organ from 1852/53 and the adjacent pulpit are prominently high.
On October 3, 2009, after eight years of renovation, the reopening of the church, which was also supported with funds from the Reformation collection 2005, was celebrated.
Church organization
Within the Evangelical Reformed regional church of Graubünden , Bever, which formed a pastoral community with La Punt-Chamues-ch until the end of 2011 and merged with this village to form a parish called Las Agnas since January 1, 2012 , belongs to Parish Upper Engadin refurmo and with this to the Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota - Bregaglia - Poschiavo - Sursès . Until 2017, Bever was affiliated with the Upper Engadine parish association Il Binsaun , the forerunner of today's merged parish .
