Harzer Land church district

The Harzer Land parish is a parish in southern Lower Saxony . It is located on the south-eastern edge of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover and is part of the Hildesheim-Göttingen district . Volkmar Keil was the superintendent from 2013 to 2020.

history

The Harzer Land church district was formed on January 1, 2013 from the Osterode church districts (including the old Westerhof office ), Clausthal and Herzberg . It extends from Hahnenklee (city of Goslar ) in the north to Nesselröden (city of Duderstadt ) in the south, from Bad Sachsa in the east to Sebexen (municipality of Kalefeld ) in the west.

Communities

54 church and chapel congregations belong to this church district. Several churches belong to a parish. The number of church members is around 55,000.

administration

The administration includes, among other things, the administration of buildings, land, cemeteries, personnel, finances and kindergartens. The administration takes place in the church district office based in Osterode am Harz .
