Kyriakoulis Mavromichalis

Kyriakoulis Petrou Mavromichalis ( Greek Κυριακούλης Μαυρομιχάλης ; * 1849 or 1850 in Athens ; † 1916 ) was a Greek politician and prime minister from 1909 to 1910.

He came from the well-known Mavromichalis family from Mani and was a grandson of the freedom fighter of the same name († July 4, 1822) of the Greek Revolution of 1821.

In 1879 he began his political career with the election of a member of the National Assembly (Voulí ton Ellínon) . Later he was Minister of the Interior in the cabinets of Theodoros Deligiannis (1895 to 1897, 1902 to 1903) and Dimitrios Rallis (1905). In the cabinets of Deligiannis and Rallis he was also military minister from 1904 to 1905.

After the fall of the government of Dimitrios Rallis , he became Prime Minister himself on August 28, 1909. Due to pressure from the powerful Military League, he was forced to enact some basic army, judicial and educational organization laws during his brief tenure. After disagreements with the Military League, he resigned on January 31, 1910.
