Kirk Baptiste

Kirk Baptiste (born June 20 or July 1, 1963 in Beaumont , Texas) is a retired American track and field athlete and Olympian.

Baptiste won the NCAA championships in 1984 and 1985 over 200 meters as well as the gold medal at the World Indoor Championships in 1987 in Indianapolis and the silver medal at the 1985 IAAF Grand Prix in Rome . He ran a world record over 300 meters on August 18, 1984 in London , which was only broken in 1990 by Danny Everett .

At the XXIII. At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , he won the silver medal between the other two Americans Carl Lewis (gold) and Thomas Jefferson (bronze) in the 200-meter run .
