Nikolay Antonov

Nikolaj Antonov ( Bulgarian Николай Антонов , English transcription Nikolay Antonov ; born August 17, 1968 in Razgrad ) is a former Bulgarian sprinter and long jumper .

Life

In 1988 in Budapest and 1990 in Glasgow he won the silver medal over 200 meters at the European Indoor Championships. At the European Championships in Split in 1990 , he was fifth over the same distance.

In 1991 he won over 200 meters at the World Indoor Championships in Seville and was seventh at the World Championships in Tokyo . The following year he won gold over the same distance at the European Indoor Championships in Genoa and reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Barcelona .

At the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart, he was eliminated in the quarter-finals over 200 meters and was seventh in the long jump. At the European Championships in Helsinki in 1994 and at the 1995 World Championships in Gothenburg , he failed in the long jump in qualification.

Twice he was Bulgarian champion over 100 meters (1989, 1990), four times over 200 meters (1987, 1989-1991) and once in the long jump (1996). In the hall he was three times national champion over 200 meters (1988–1990).
