The Kirk River is a river in the east of the Australian state of Queensland .
geography
River course
The river has its source at the settlement of Glenell North , north of the Leichhardt Range and about 75 km south of Townsville . From there it flows to the south-southwest and flows into the Burdekin River about 7 km east of the settlement of Cardigan .
